On July 18th, families, YNT staff and children gathered at Jingili Early Learning to farewell Annie and celebrate her 22 years of educating at the Y!
“It’s been amazing working [at Jingili], the staff have become a family and we learn not just from the professional development we do but each other, the children and the families too.” – Annie
Starting out in 2001 as an educator, Annie reflected on her career at the Y, experiencing change and growth throughout the years, particularly Jingili Early Learning.
“The centre has changed exponentially over the years… at the core of it, it’s all about the children.”
The farewell was full of good vibes and joy, with little ones and their families coming together for a fun-filled afternoon of food, arts and crafts, and connection. The staff pulled out all the stops, blowing up balloons and setting up delicious catering to celebrate their colleague.
“The first thing I noticed about Annie was [that she was] welcoming; she knew a lot about the centre… as a director looking at her work, I think she is brilliant, she has worked from babies’ room to preschool age group. She is always caring for every child and amazing with families. She has been giving 200% of herself in time and energy every single day, so it’s great to see so many people turn up and recognize this.” Chloee Gineste, Past Centre Director
Feeling all the love from her team, staff, little ones and families, Annie closes a 22-year chapter to her time at the centre.
“Thank you for all your time and hard work with the Y all over these years [while you] aren’t going too far, we are excited to keep hearing you and seeing you around!” – Ximena Salazar, Acting Center Director of Jingili Early Learning
Whilst we will miss Annie around the centre, she won’t be going too far! She’ll be going next door to work with the preschool age group.
Best wishes Annie!
