Kilgariff Recreation Centre awarded ‘Play Our Way’ funding for access and inclusion facility upgrades

At the Y, we support Territorians of all ages and backgrounds to lead active and healthy lives. We want everyone to have opportunities to be healthy in body, mind and spirit.

That’s why we are thrilled to announce that our application to the Australian Government’s Play Our Way program has been successful.

Play Our Way was established to promote equitable opportunities for women and girls in sport and physical activity, by reducing the barriers they experience.

After a highly competitive process, Play Our Way is allocating funding to 290 organisations across Australia.

We will be using our grant to improve accessibility and inclusion at Kilgariff Recreation Centre in Alice Springs -Mparntwe.

The project includes bathroom and changeroom renovations, development of a Women’s Gym Space, and upgrades to the communal seating area to facilitate connection and belonging.

We are very excited to have been awarded the funding and look forward to the facility upgrades over the coming year and the benefits for our community.
